About

Dr. Quincy K. Ruffin

Dr. Quincy K. Ruffin is a leadership coach, organizational culture consultant, and author of four published books. He works with teenagers, neurodivergent individuals, and adult professionals, including senior executives, to strengthen confidence, improve follow-through, and develop practical strategies for personal and professional growth.

His background includes more than two decades in law enforcement as an officer, detective, and sergeant, with experience supervising adults, developing personnel, and leading in demanding environments.

As a consultant with Strategies for Youth and the author of Hot Potato: A Law Enforcement Guide to Understanding and Managing Encounters with Youth, Dr. Ruffin brings a focus on understanding young people's behavior and improving how adults respond. His broader work includes presentations at Stanford School of Medicine and curriculum development for law enforcement agencies, academic medical institutions, and school districts.

His commitment to supporting neurodivergent individuals is also personal. Dr. Ruffin has ADHD and has raised two children with ADHD. His oldest child is a UC Berkeley graduate, and his youngest is a college freshman pursuing a pre-med track. These experiences inform his belief that effective support begins with recognizing each person's strengths, understanding their challenges, and building strategies suited to how they learn and work.

How Dr. Ruffin coaches

Dr. Ruffin's coaching combines encouragement with clear expectations and meaningful accountability. Whether supporting a teenager's growing independence or an executive's leadership development, he helps clients translate insight into action, learn from setbacks, and take increasing ownership of their goals.
